September 9 2017 Table Rock Lake and Lake Taneycomo Fishing Guide Report Branson MO

Lake Level 916.2
Normal Pool 915.0
Water Temp 80-82 degrees

It’s been interesting fishing on Table Rock the past couple weeks. What I’ve been out seems like the shallow bite has been a lot more consistent than the deeper drop shot fish. By the shallow bite I mean top water in the morning for the first couple hours then backing off the bank a bit to catch the fish on a 1/4 ounce ned rig head or 3/8 brown and purple flash football jig. For the top water fish there’s been some decent largemouth on flat gravel banks in and behind the bushes hitting a black buzzbait and the new 110 size whopper plopper around Kimberling, up the James and further up the White seems the better for this only getting better as the water cools a few degrees.
The deeper drop shot fish are out there on the mainlake gravel points and flats roaming in the 20′-30′ depth range. They seem a bit inconsistent, a point that is good one day the fish seem to disappear the next and be gone a few days. I’ve been really having to jump around doing a lot of searching for them, once found they’re biting a 4” Chomper’s worn, 1/2 ounce white spoon and crawlers.  Also finally beginning to see more suspended fish in the tree tops around the 25′ range. Hopefully as the thermocline gets more stabilized and water clears up this deep bite will be on track for the upcoming fall.

Trout fishing below on Taneycomo is awesome! Lots and lots of rainbow’s can be caught all over the lake. In the morning they’ve been running none to little water. Try fishing a pink trout worm or pink trout magnet on a 1/80 ounce head below a float with a 6′ or 8′ leader. Use a 2lb fluorocarbon leader line. There’s a lot of nice trout from Cooper Creek to Scotty’s Trout Dock area. On some afternoon’s they’ve been kicking on the water flow after the current has built up try drifting crawlers on bottom. Moss has been bad on the upper parts you may have to fish Cooper Creek down but they’ll be a lot of action!

Very sadly we lost one of the best fishermen and best of men last week too soon.
Please keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.
He will be missed but never forfotten
