May 3, 2018 Table Rock Lake Fishing Guide Report Branson Missouri

Lake Level 915.5
Normal Pool 915.0
Water Temp 58-64 degrees

The bass fishing on Table Rock Lake this week has been great this week with the warmer temperatures heating up the water.  Lots of bass are on the beds now spawning in the coves (leave those alone so they can make babies). The dam area, Kimberling City to Shell Knob the gravel flat banks and points are getting loaded up with nice pre spawn smallmouth and spots. Keep your boat in 20′ of water looking for the bite to be 8′-12′ maybe shallower on the warm and windy days. Swim a 4″ Chompers single tail grub in milky white or smoke with black flake on a 3/16 ounce head or a 3.5 inch swim bait on a 1/4 ounce underspin head. Also the fish are hitting McStick jerkbaits in clear chartreuse and blue bandit colors. The moss from Point 9 to the dam is dying off but still pretty bad. From the mouth of the White and in the James there’s also a good bite fishing the ned rig and shaky head on the bottom on these same banks and pockets. One certain thing is the afternoon bite has been a lot better than the morning.

Down on Taneycomo the trout have been biting as well. Try drifting crawlers from Fall Creek to Short Creek with 2 or more generators running. Further below around Branson throw a trout magnet or pink worm below a float 20th about a 6′ leader of 2lb flourocarbon.

In memory of one of the best fishermen and best of men,

Gone but never forgotten
