May 21, 2018 Table Rock Lake Fishing Guide Report Branson MO

Lake Level 916.5
Normal Pool 915
Water Temp 76-80 degrees

It’s been great bass fishing on Table Rock Lake lately! Fish are shallow and hungry.  Most have spawned out hitting traditional post spawn lures. Top water has been great from the James River to the Dam, Kimberling City to Shell Knob.  Early and cloudy days throw spooks, red fins and the whopper plopper around the points leading into spawning pockets. Flat gravel or chunk rock banks. Haven’t caught many suspended in the timber yet most are shallow on the banks and some schooling shad busting on top in and around these areas. Also try a Zoom fluke in Mardi Gras and smokin shad colors twitched a couple feet below the surface. Once the sun gets up or they quit hitting topwater back your boat out and try swimming a 4 ” Chompers singletail grub in smoke or watermelon red colors. Keep your boat in the 15′-20′ range try using a 3/16 or 1/8 head swimming the grub slowly to moderate speeds for bites of smallmouth and kentuckies.  The moss problem earlier from Joe Bald to the Dam area is getting better and a better bite too throwing a green pumpkin tube and ned rig on the bottom if the fish won’t hit the grub during high sunny skies and still conditions.

In memory of one of the best fishermen and best of men,
Gone but never forgotten
