Table Rock Lake has been fishing awesome this spring. Bass are shallow biting from one end of the lake to the other on a variety of lures day to day. Samllmouth and spotted bass are biting from the dam area, Kimberling City to Baxter where the water is still clear from the recent rains swimming 4” Chomper’s grubs, swimbaits on a 1/4 ounce underspin head on the mainlake flat gravel banks and points. These fish are holding on the old bankline out in front of the flooded bushes and trees. I’ve been doing the best on smoke/black flake colored grubs on all the cloudy days and watermelon/red if the suns out. Keep your boat sitting 20-25′ deep and slowly wind the grub or underspin back in off bottom. Moss on the bottom is still a problem around the dam area but past Kimberling if the fish are reluctant to hit the swimming baits switch to ned rigs or tubes in the same depths to finesse the same nice smallmouth that are biting. There’s also a pretty good top water bite in the clearer water developing. Red-Fins seem to be the best to get strikes but spooks and flukes will also get some.
