May 14 2017 Table Rock Lake Fishing Guide Report Branson, MO

Lake Level 928.1
Normal Pool 915
Water Temp 68-70 degrees

The bass fishing is phenomenal right now on Table Rock!  High water, warm temperatures, stained color and current has the fish frisky. I’ve been doing the best in the semi stained water around the dam, Baxter and upper James.  Certain areas like Kimberling and lower James are muddy I’ve been staying out of that mess. Smallmouth and Spots are biting the best fishing the old bank line in front of the flooded trees. Fish are on the gravel flatter banks/points and secondaries 15 – 30′ deep. Seems like earlier in the morning they’ll be scattered with some shallow and some below the boat in 30′. I’ve been drop shotting quit a few of these bass but later I  the morning finding the majority moving shallower towards the tree line in 15′ or so.  Bass are biting a 3″ Chompers tube in green pumpkin,  a 1/4 ounce shaky head, Carolina rigged baby brush hog, colors vary but anything in  green pumpkin with a chartreuse dyed tail seems hard to beat!

Had a few nicer largemouth this week in the very back ends of the bigger creeks with more run off throwing a 1/2 ounce white and chartreuse spinnerbait. These fish are buried back in the trees and vegetation, hard to get to but worth it generally being a nicer largemouth.
