Water Temp 77-80 degrees

What a great time to be fishing on Table Rock Lake right now! The bass are biting from one end of the lake to the other, shalliw and deep they’re biting! ran a couple guide trips out of the James late last week from Cape Fair to the Schoolhouse area fish were all over the gravel flat banks biting a white swim bait on a 3/8 ounce head, Carolina rigged green pumpkin baby brush hog and 1/2 ounce pb&j football jig 10’20’ deep on the main lake banks. A lot of fish mainly largemouth are in the flooded trees and bushes. I haven’t been able to try any of them but my main fishin partner has been flippin them out of the cover on a sweet beaver and jig in the James.

Further down lake Kimberling City, Baxter, and the Dam area still catching some smallmouth on the grub, ned rig, tube up shallow on the gravel banks, points. Keep your boat in 20′ of water throw in to the old bank line.  Make sure on the grub to hit bottom before the retreive, slowly wind the grub back in off bottom for the bites.  I have been doing the best all spring on a 3/16 ounce head with a smoke/black flake Chompers 4″ single tail. When the sun gets up high and wind is not blowing switch over  to a 1/8 or 3/16 ounce ned rig scrubbing the bottom to get bit.

The deeper dropshot bite is really picking up for the Kentuckies. Seems real unpredictable day to day fish moving to different depths. Once you find a school they want to bite the ones I’ve been catching have been 22-28′ deep on the main lake gravel points. On a 4″ Chompers drop shot worm in watermelon candy or green pumpkin.
Until next time good fishin everyone
