April 23, 2017 Table Rock Lake Fishing Guide Report Branson, MO

Lake Level 918.2
Normal Pool 915.0
Water Temp 58-60 degrees

The bass fishing on Table Rock is as good as it gets now. Smallmouth bass are so active right now around the Dam, Kimberling City to Shell  Knob are. These fish and a mix of  nice spotted bass are roaming all over the pea gravel flat banks. I’ve been catching quite a few on a 1/4 ounce underspin swimbait on windy days or real early in the morning but catching a lot more fish total on a 3/16 ounce grub swimming off the bottom 8-12′ deep. Colors vary but for the most part sticking with a 4” Chompers smoke/blake flake and watermelon color. Keep your boat in 20-25′ of water to swim the grub through these fish . A lot of fish are on the beds and a lot of post-spawners are showing up which means a great top water bite is on and coming up. In the clearer water look for bigger fish to start suspending over timber, cedar trees, and throw a spook or red-fin to get a big bite.
Taneycomo Trout fishing is fun and exciting as it gets! There is so many trout from Cooper Creek to Fall Creek. Been doing a little trout fishing around downtown Branson with the water on. Use a a pink trout worm or  trout magnet below a float on a 1/100th ounce head with a 6′-8′ leader or orange power egg on a small jig head. More and nicer trout have been comin from Fall Creek down to Short Creek on the same trout worm/magnet set up and 1/8 ounce sculpin jig hopping a bit off the bottom.
